Title: The Pout-Pout Fish
Author: Deborah Diesen
Pictures By: Dan Hanna
This board book is simply adorable and even incorporates
a little song throughout the book! I think it would be a perfect read aloud
book that would be fun to teach the students the song to sing along to during
the reading. It also utilizes rhyming throughout the book which can be used to
teach students about words that rhyme. It does, however, use some big vocabulary
words that may be tough for younger students. These vocabulary words in the book
can be used by the teacher to teach the students some new big words that they
may not be familiar with. The illustrations are very colorful and fun as well!
Rating: 4/5
While this book is adorable and has a nice song
and rhyming aspect, I do think that some of the vocabulary is a little too
tough for younger students, so it might have to used strictly as a read aloud book
until the students learn the new words and what they mean in order to understand
the book completely!
